京都精華大学で行われる講演会。様々なジャンルからゲスト講師を迎え開催されています。講師 ヴィカース・スワループ （駐大阪神戸インド総領事・小説家）

創造性を見つけ出すとは、何か。そして、創造性とはどの様にして生み出されていくものなのでしょう。今回は、創造性を育むために必要とされる環境や個性を発揮するために役立つことなどをテーマに取りあげます。実際にスワループ氏が手がけた小説、『ぼくと1ルピーの神様』（原題 : 『Q & A』、映画「スラムドック＄ミリオネア」の原作）などを書くにあたってヒントとなった事や逸話も折り込んでお話します。

“Creative Mind”
The exploration of creativity, what it is and how it can be nurtured. The lecture will address issues such as the supporting environment required for nurturing creativity and some of the tools which may be useful in actualizing the potential of a creative individual. The talk will be interspersed with Mr. Swarup’s personal reflections and anecdotes acquired in the process of writing his two novels ‘Q＆A’ and ‘Six Suspects’.

プロフィール
ヴィカース・スワループ Vikas SWARU
1961年生まれ。インド北部のアラハバード出身。弁護士の家庭に育ち、大学では心理学、哲学、歴史を学び、外交官となる。トルコ、アメリカ、エチ オピア、イギリス、南アフリカに赴任し、2009年8月より現職。イギリス赴任中に執筆した、『ぼくと1ルピーの神様』（原題『Q & A』）で小説家デ ビュー。同作は、40カ国語以上に翻訳され、世界的ベストセラーに。また、「スラムドック＄ミリオネア」として映画化もされ、アカデミー賞8 部門を獲得。アーティストの妻と2人の息子がいる。

Born in Allahabad (India) in 1961 to a family of lawyers. Studied History, Psychology and Philosophy in Allahabad University. After graduating, he joined the Indian Foreign Service and was posted to various countries such as Turkey, the United States, Ethiopia, the United Kingdom and South Africa. Since August 2009 , he has been the Consul General of India in Osaka-Kobe, Japan. During his posting in the U.K., his first novel, “Q & A“was published. It has been translated into over 40 languages and has become a worldwide bestseller. Its famous movie adaptation, “Slumdog Millionaire,” has won 8 Oscars.His wife is an artist. They have two sons.
