Kazunari Yuri Kato Exhibition and Matsuyama

Young craftsmen and is a project of Kyoto, that focuses on handwork, will be introduced from various angles.

Focusing on traditional crafts, we will continue to collect and research the technology and culture has been passed down from generation to generation in the land of Kyoto. And, we will propose the design and style, the ideas and images born by modern living and projection, the idea, to conduct a "thing-thing" found there.

This time, it is exhibition introduces lacquer craftsman and Yuri Kato of Kyoto, the "work" and "work" of Mr. Kazunari Matsuyama dyeing craftsmen. All means, please try to touch the young artisan handiwork of Kyoto on this occasion.

Matsuyama Kazunari | MATSUYAMA Issei [artisan dyeing]

Born in Kyoto in 1978. Young artisan studio that specializes in traditional dyeing techniques, the dyeing, of Matsuyama Senko. Staining techniques and modern sensibility that is solid reputation. Also belong to "traditional industries Wakaba meeting today," to activities for the purpose of inheritance and development of traditional industries in Kyoto, was president in FY 2009 and FY 22.

<Dyeing>
Staining technique to stain by soaking in liquid dye white fabric. Is referred to as an alias, also dyed plain, used mainly to dye the ground color of the kimono. Experience is required and skilled handwork delicate color matching throughout the process, such as the temperature of the kettle and mixing of the dye, and color swatches.

Yuri Kato | KATO Yuri [lacquer craftsman]

Born in Kyoto in 1983. After graduating from high school lacquer art crafts copper 駝美 Kyoto, completed junior college undergraduate industrial technology training for traditional lacquer in Kyoto, the Institute of lacquer in Kagawa Prefecture. The company has created a work vigorously using traditional techniques, such as existing and Qing lacquer carving. Cooperative President Award Exhibition Kyoto lacquerware craft Kyoto lacquerware, lacquer Award Exhibition moisture, such as the award Asunaro Awards Award Exhibition Masami well to shore.
